A manifested pallet comes with a list of the items on it. An unmanifested pallet has no official list, so you're buying more on what you can see. The right choice depends on how much certainty you want, but unmanifested is usually the better deal.
| Manifested | Unmanifested | |
|---|---|---|
| Item list | Yes | No official list |
| How you judge it | Read the list and check the numbers | Photos, an in-person look and what's visible |
| Value | You see the item list first | Usually the better deal |
| Best for | Buyers who want to run the numbers first | Buyers comfortable with more unknowns |
| Example at Pallet Sellers | Home Depot pallets | Lowe's pallets and Gaylords |
Why buy manifested?
You know what's supposed to be on the pallet before you pay, so you can look up items and estimate what they'll sell for. Our Home Depot pallets come with a full item manifest showing Home Depot wholesale value, and each is priced at 65% off wholesale.
Why buy unmanifested?
When you buy unmanifested, you get a much better deal and usually way more value for your money. Our 3PL pallets usually have thousands of dollars' worth of value. We photograph each load and list what we can see, and there may be more on the pallet or in the box than the listing shows.
Unmanifested doesn't have to mean guessing, either. Our A-Premium auto parts pallets aren't manifested, but buyers get our barcode lookup software. Scan or type the barcode on the box to find out what the part is, so most parts are easy to identify.
Shop Lowe's return pallets, 3PL pallets or auto parts pallets.
Does a manifest guarantee condition?
No. A manifest tells you what's listed, not what shape it's in. Whichever type you buy, these are liquidation goods sold as is, and some items may be used, damaged or missing parts.
Which should you start with?
If this is your first pallet, a manifested pallet makes it easier to run the numbers before you buy. If you already know how to test and sell mixed goods, unmanifested pallets are usually the better deal.
